It has come out clear that there is nothing hon Kalonzo Musyoka can do to make his 2017 MoU with ODM party leader Raila Odinga be honoured. This is after the Wiper Party leader kept insisting that for him to Join Azimio, Raila Odinga has to honour their previous NASA agreement.
Earlier this week hon Kalonzo said that Raila has only two options. Either to support him or worsen the already existing trust issues between the two of them and their political parties.
“Raila should just endorse me. He has two options, adhere to the agreement or defy it,” he said on Tuesday, hours after availing parts of the said MoU as proof that Raila agreed to endorse him this time.
According to political analyst Tom Mboya the chances of having the MoU honoured by Raila are very limited. He argues that theire is nearly nothing hon Kalonzo can do to push Raila Odinga to honour their previous NASA agreement and endorse him for the presidency.
Speaking to the Saturday Standard Mboya says that it is very hard to bind someone to an MoU saying that he cannot see anything Kalonzo can do and it will ultimately be Raila to decide whether to honour it or not to.
Further, Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana also argues that since the former prime minister Raila never won the 2017 elections, then the MoU became null and void and the condition was that he wins and serves for a single 5-year term.
