In his trip, the Deputy President was accompanied by a group of his close leaders for his much publicized official trip to the US. Beside the budget, there is this latest blunder which has left Kenyans talking on how the DP Ruto could ask the International Community to intervene to stop the government from interfering with elections in August of this year. The government the deputy president is talking about concerning rigging of election is the very same government he is the second in command.
Professor Makau Mutua who is an ally of ODM party leader hon Raila has stated that the remarks made by the second in command was a big mistake and he is wondering what government DP Ruto was talking about and he is the deputy president of Kenya whose trip was also funded by taxpayers’ money. According to professor Makau the deputy president should not tarnish the image of the country for his own selfish gains.
“A sitting Deputy President goes to the US and informs the American people that the government he sits in is planning to compromise elections. He pleads with the American people to stop Kenyan government from interfering with elections,” Makau Mutua said in a tweet.
