Nairobi males are sexually harassed and robbed by prostitutes on the streets.

After robbing unsuspecting men who refuse their overtures, police have located streets and buildings in the city where prostitutes lurk. The areas of Nyamakima, Haile Sellasie, and Monrovia Street have been designated as hotspots where events occur frequently.

OCPD Central According to Adamson Bungei, the majority of the prostitutes used to work at the Simmers restaurant, which was demolished in 2018.

We have received about four cases so far and the nature of the attacks are the same. The women are operating as a group whereby they approach their victim and when he refuses to give in to their demands, they resort to violence. Some of the victims were robbed of cash,” said Bungei.

He stated that police have already located the buildings where the women hide after committing the crime and that a raid to apprehend the culprits will be conducted soon. Churches that had leased spaces in the said buildings for services have been compelled to relocate, according to the police chief.

“We have established that some Churches which were operating in the affected areas had to shift because of the women,” added Bungei.

Police, according to Bungei, have begun an operation to clear the city of parking boys and street families. He said that during the Christmas season last year, 80 percent of the city’s homeless families were ejected.
