Lord Abraham Mutahi has come out claiming that the deputy president William Ruto and his allies are currently importing voters from different areas and register them in Lang’ata constituency. These imported voters are being registered at MMU University. This seems to be UDA party’s tactic of winning the Lang’ata parliamentary seat in the coming August election.
The constituency of Lang’ata has attracted several candidates including comedian and radio presenter Mzee Jalang’o who is targeting the seat with ODM ticket. The constituency was for the longest time under the former prime minister right hon Raila Odinga for 20 years and it is currently represented by Nixon Korir of Jubilee party. Nixon Korir was the founding chairman of the URP party of William Ruto.
This statement from Lord Abraham Mutahi sparked reactions from Kenyans who feels like there is nothing wrong with importing voters to favour the party’s candidate.
