Residents in Tanzania were outraged after it was discovered that a Tanzanian woman who had been telling her relatives and neighbors that her mother had gone abroad for medication had killed and buried her mother.
The woman’s body was discovered in a shallow grave inside their compound on Sunday after the girl admitted to killing her mother.
Patricia Ibreck, a retired nurse from KCMC Referral Hospital, went missing a year ago, leading relatives and close friends to believe she went to seek medication in a foreign nation after being persuaded to do so.
Wendrick Mrema alias Wendy, the alleged killer, is said to have murdered her mother in order to inherit the properties she held.

According to police investigators investigating the case, the woman slaughtered her mother with a panga and then buried her body within the compound.
Wendy continued to inform her neighbors and family that her mother had gone to the doctor.
She kept up the foreign medication story for at least a year, until cops finally got her to admit to killing her mother yesterday.
The fatal tragedy occurred in the community of Rau Mrukuti in the Moshi district’s Uru.
